Oscars Turn 80

Radiant. Lovely. Confident. Pretty. Appropriate. Freaking gorgeous. Ms. Cruz is my pick for best dressed at last night's Oscars. This picture does not do her dress justice. It was just amazing.

*I also loved Amy Adams, Jennifer Garner, Amy Ryan, Laura Linney and Diablo Cody.
I like women who radiate confidence. *

I also thought George Clooney looked yummy and presidential. Clooney is so hot. (Can we be friends?)

Products I Don't (or Won't) Touch

Yeah. I got 15 l bs. of product at the recent CEW product demonstration. But here is one I won't review. I am not into products that swear to increase your bust or reduce your cottage cheese thighs. Just not possible. If you don't have cellulite, be grateful.

My eyes are watching you...

This is a picture of the top half of my face. I wanted a picture that would showcase the magic of Cover Girl's new must-have mascara. It's called lashblast and I just love it. This is not the first time I've mentioned the product. But I have to give it props, again. It's just that good. And this is without a curler.

Kiss, Kiss

February is a month for kissing. After all, moments after we ring in the new year, we are bombarded with images encouraging us to celebrate, i.e. eat candy and buy expensive gifts on St. Valentine's Day. Although reader, I should point out that I am not what many people would call a romantic. Anyway, back to the issue of lips. I find it funny that we are supposed to use our lips liberally this month, when it is cold outside and many people are walking around with seriously chapped lips. Not only do my lips dry up, they also tend to crack on the sides.

I have different tricks for dealing with yucky puckers. Here are two ideas. Feel free to share your own:

Idea #1
Warm washcloth meets Vaseline = improved lips
1. Rub Vaseline or Aquaphor onto lips.
2. Gently scrub lips with warm washcloth or old toothbrush
3. Reapply Vaseline or other balm to keep lips protected.

Idea #2
Sugar + water = sweet, soft mouth
1. Mix small amount of sugar with water
2. massage solution onto lips
3. Dry and apply Vaseline or other favorite balm.

15 Lbs. of Product!

This beauty blogger spent seven hours volunteering at one of New York City's largest beauty shows ever. The CEW beauty awards demonstration is not really a show; it's an opportunity for companies to showcase their newest products. I walked away from the event with a huge bag of beauty products. It's 15 pounds. Later this week I will post reviews from Avon, Benefit, Clinique et al.

Lovely Lancome Lips

My Pixel Pink lipstick arrived in the mail. It's pretty, though darker than I imagined. But it's sheer and easy to wear. If you find the shade too dark, gently press your finger against your lips. This will help temper the shade.

I think Pixel Pink will be immensely popular, especially this spring.

Editor's note:
I wish Lancome would tweak its shipping system. The lipstick arrived in a box big enough for a bottle of shampoo. Seemed like a waste to me. I recycled the box, but still, why not use a bubble mailer?
