Great Summer Products

Leave it to Neutrogena to come up with a great Spf 30 /moisturizer with a built-in color booster. Love this stuff.

Every morning (sometimes every other morning) I apply it and am guaranteed to get sun protection and a little color. You know the kind of color I'm talking about -- sun-kissed color. Very natural looking.

The best part is that there's no evidence of self-tanner on my face because this is a gradual booster. Also, there's no yucky smell. The product comes is available for fair and medium skin tones. Don't forget to wash your hands after applying it.

More facts:
Neutrogena Color Boosting Sunblock is oil-free, PABA-free, and non-comedogenic, so it won't clog your pores.

Summer Heat

It's a beautiful day in New York City. Sunny, warm and breezy. But the weather isn't always so agreeable. Yesterday was humid and sticky. When I get uncomfortable and red-faced from the heat, I like to cool off with a shower. Sometimes I just stick my feet in the tub and let the water run over my swollen toes.
One of my most favorite beauty tricks during this time of year is to put my facial toner in the fridge. You can do this with any kind of toner ~ drugstore brand or your favorite luxe brand. Right now I am loving my Mario Badescu Seaweed toner with Aloe extract. Friends, I even convinced my husband to try it out. Simply keep the toner in the fridge and apply to face with a cotton ball or pad. Ahh.

Ingredients: Deionized Water (Aqua), Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice) Gel, Bladderwrack (Fucus Vesiculosus) Extract, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana Distillate), Seamollient (Algae Extract).
What do you do to keep cool and pretty during the summer months? Please share your tips.

Blotting Tissues

Today I am going to revisit a product that I've mentioned before on this blog.
Blotting Linens.

I first discovered these tissue-y papers while in Beijing, China. I had purchased a Boscia travel pack that included facial wash, toner and moisturizer. It also came with blotting linens.

Blotting linens should be handed out on the New York City subway. You know, buy a monthly metrocard, get a free package of blotting linens.

These are not regular tissues. They are absorbent papers that suck up your sweat -- without disturbing your makeup.

Just repeat after me, "Pat, Pat, Pat."

Seriously, I am a big fan of blotting linens. I even got my football loving husband to use them too.

A must in humid weather.

Denta Burst

You know the TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance?" What if there were a show, "So you think you have good breath?"
You know those days when you just can't get rid of your garlic pesto breath? You think you're in the clear, then you realize you're not. That's when you need Denta Burst. Talk about a productive product. It doesn't really matter what color your lipstick if your breath stinks. These little finger gloves are great for using post-pesto to freshen up.

Pull the device out of the packaging and swipe over your teeth. Brush gently.
Just be careful: Denta Burst wipes are very strong. They may sting your lips, especially if your lips are dry.
Did I mention the wipes remove plaque?
I like to toss one into my bag for garlic emergencies.

New Brows at Damone Roberts

Eyebrow king Damone Roberts has a saying ...

Because every face deserves the perfect frame

That's something I believe in.

Here I am with brow diva Armond Hambrick in New York City. He's prepping my face for a wax/tease. Armond also does eyelash tinting, makeup applications and other facially friendly treatments.

It's amazing what well-groomed eyebrows and a little mascara can do for anyone's face.
Armond gave me the least painful eyebrow wax I've ever had in my life. It was so painless, I actually wondered if he was doing anything. He was quick about waxing, but he wasn't rushing. He used a small amount of wax -- so there was no stickiness or goo or glop.

I loved that Armond took the time to show me what he was doing with my brows. And I liked that he asked me if the tweezing was tolerable. So many people never bother to ask, and they tweeze as if you don't have nerves or pain receptors. They will see my eyes tear up and keep plucking away.

Anyway, after the wax, Armond showed me how he applied a light brown powder and a highlighter. Armond is a big fan of full brows. And so am I. He says skinny brows makes people looked older. I agree.

No wonder I'm smiling. I look pretty good, don't I?

Thanks to Marilyn who took many of the pictures, including this one, of me.

By the way, if you visit Damone Roberts, don't forget to pick up their spring bling eyebrow kit and a candle.

If you do visit the 5th Ave. location, be sure to mention Product Perfect and get 10% off.

Furminator pix

I promised some pictures from Nina and the furminator. Here you go. This time I got smart. I decided to lay down an old towel and place Nina on top of it before using the tool. Then I tossed the towel. Here's hoping there's less of Nina's hair on my couch.
