Korres has opened a new store on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights.

I'm on my way there now to check it out. Will report back later today. Stay tuned. Don't forget your umbrella today and your Frizz Ease Hair Serum or whatever else you use during humid times.

Update: The store is lovely. Pictures to follow. Quick feedback on the new place -- if you love natural plant and food based ingredients, you will love, love Korres. I already have a favorite product. Their orange water face spray. More on that later.

Lip Gloss and Cancer?

A recent news story said wearing lip gloss could increase your chance of getting cancer.

I'm too tired to explain the science behind the findings right now. But it has to do with the fact that certain glosses attract sunlight, allowing the UV rays to penetrate the skin on the lip. For an easy fix, try wearing a lip balm with spf under your lipstick.

Or, try one of the many glosses that have SPF in them, including these from Neutrogena and Clinique (Long last glosswear spf 15)

Just remember that anyone who's planning on being outdoors for more than 20 minutes at a time should use a lip sun block with an SPF of 30. And don't forget to put sunscreen on the tips of your ears, the back of your neck and anywhere else that likely to get exposed.
