Believe it or not, there are beauty brands that I am still discovering.
One brand is Eve Lom. It's known for its facial cleansing oil and muslin cleansing cloths.
But I really like Kiss Mix.
Part lip-balm, part lip shine, I like to wear this "mix" to keep my lips moisturized and to give them a little gloss.

Introducing pur~lisse

Meet pur~lisse creator, Jennifer Yen .

Jen started her own line of luxe skincare after her own skin freaked out on her. She was an actress, and says all the heavy makeup really did a number on her complexion. Now her skin is clear and smooth.
I don't want to give away all of pur~lisse's secrets, but I can tell you that the product is made with white tea, sea silk and blue lotus flower.
The product line is exceptionally gentle.
No stinging, no tightness, no burning. Pur-lisse leaves your skin well-hydrated and smooth.
Also, I like the simplicity of the line: cleanse, moisturize. Easy.
If you need extra care, you can use one of two serums.
My favorite products are the cleanser and the moisturizer. The moisturizer is available with or without sunscreen.

Question?

I love trying out new face masks. But I'm always left with the same problem. How to remove the mask, especially when it's a crusty mask, you know, one that hardens. Sometimes I use water. Other times I use a wet washcloth, but then the washcloth is a mess. I've tried using disposable cotton pads, soaked in water, and wet paper towels. I think the paper towels work best. Usually I can wring them out and use the same batch of towels more than once.

*So, how do you remove face masks?*

In other beauty news, I am excited to try out a new high-end skincare line that goes by the name M Lab. So far, so good. I'll keep you posted.

La Mer NOT La mere

La Mer.
It seems everybody in Hollywood swears by this cream.
Seriously, what's not to love? It is a thick cream intended to moisturize and soothe the skin.
I, however, am a big fan of the hand treatment.
It's made from seaweed and other vitamin-rich ingredients.

I ran into Lauren Glassberg in Starbucks on Columbus Ave. the other day. You probably know Lauren from her gig on WABC (Channel 7 in NYC). She does a segment called Neighborhood Eats among other things.
Anyway, I asked Lauren what products she relies on daily. Anything she considers a must-have? I thought she'd give me a long list of high-end luxe products. Boy was I wrong!

FAT HAIR NOT FAT THIGHS

Every time I look at my bottle of Samy Fat Hair, I laugh. Giggle to myself. This is supposed to be "0" calorie hair care because God knows we don't need to take in any additional calories. I got this in some beauty gift bag, I don't even recall which one, and I've been using it every since. This is actually a thickening shampoo. I wouldn't normally gravitate toward a thickening shampoo because I have thick hair. But I figured I would give it a try since I liked its scent and its vegan. Also, the product is sulphate free. I don't feel like I can give a fair review of the shampoo based on my hair texture. But, I can tell you that it is gentle and I enjoyed using it. Sorry I don't have more specific results. I thought about giving away this product to a neighbor, but I don't know, I just wanted to hold onto it for some reason. Have you tried Samy products? What did you think of them?

Linden Leaves

Clearly something is going on since I am still on the subject of suds. Just wanted to fill you in about a soap from Linden Leaves. It's called Linden Blossom and it is made with chamomile extract and olive oil. But I think the real reason I like this so much -- It's from New Zealand. So, what's not to like? Seriously, New Zealand has he most majestic ice-capped mountains and the sheep are pretty cute, too.

Glowology

Since I'm on the subject of cleansing, let's talk about Glowology's
Heavenly Honey Wash. Some of the ingredients in this body wash include calendula extract, white tea and lavender. This stuff is supposed to be extra gentle and safe enough for babies. I do love how it smells, though I wish the fragrance were a bit less intense. In any case, I'm enjoying this body wash and would recommend it.

New Favorite (s)

From Mario Badescu comes a seaweed cleansing lotion that is gentle enough for my sensitive skin.
This is not really a cleanser. I would call it a toner. I love that it is ultra -gentle and does not tingle or burn. Really. I have just about finished one bottle and I am not reacting to it. I use this every day post-cleansing to make sure I have removed any soapy residue.
The ingredient list is very short: water, aloe gel, bladderwrack extract, witch hazel and algae extract.
